Dr. Alberto Testa (Ph.D ) is a sociologist (research interests: sociology of deviance, Socio/legal
aspects of Sport );he works as a full time
Lecturer in Social Sciences of Sport at the School of Sport
and Education at Brunel University-London UK.
Alberto Testa (3rd dan) has studied several styles of Karate among these Goju-Ryu (he attended
several stages led by Shihan Giancarlo Barbin Italian Goju-Kai representative  (The Goju-Kai
organization was founded by the well-known Gogen Yamaguchi ).

He also studied Shotokan Karate with
Sensei Fabrizio Castellani obtaining shodan. Sensei
Castellani (6th dan) is one of the top shotokan  master and the Italian representative of the
International Shotokan Karate Federation-Japan Karate Association-Tokyo and director of the
AKS (Multi-Style Karate Organization)
Studying Karate also from a sociological perspective; He decided to know more about Okinawan karate
(the ancestor of modern Karate) and he was fortunate to meet Hanshi Koei Nohara, chief instructor of
the
All Ryukyus Fullcontact Karatedo Association (Okinawa-Japan). From this experience he
understood that studying Okinawan Karate was crucial to comprehend the original essence and
meanings of this extraordinary martial art.

Alberto Testa had the honour to be introduced to the Seibukan style (Kyan Chotoku lineage) of karate
by
Kyoshi Jamal Measara,famous karate and kobudo master, well known Okinawan karate historian
and researcher; 7th dan Seibukan, 6th dan Matayoshi Kobudo, 6th dan Aikido;Chief Examiner and
Instructor for Europe of the International Okinawa Shorin- Ryu Seibukan Karate and Hanshi Zempo
Shimabukuro’s direct student and one of the few non-okinawan master being admitted to the Okinawan
Karate Commission (Okinawa-Japan) to preserve the original Okinawan karate teachings and culture.
He will always be in debt for the generosity of Kyoshi Measara in sharing knowledge on Okinawan
karate.
Alberto Testa  practices and updates his Karate knowledge with the prestigious World Oshu
Kai Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate Do Kobudo Federation
(Okinawa-Japan) with direct and
clear lineage to Anko Itosu-Chibana Sensei, headed by Hanshi Kenyu Chinen one of the few
disciples of  the legendary Shugoro Nakazato and Katsuya Miyahira Sensei.

He crosstrains in Muay Thai and Boxing and he is member instructor of the
British Combat
Association led by Peter Consterdine and Geoff Thompson Sensei. The BCA is a well
known UK organization which aims to teach and promote efficient and REALISTIC Close
Quarter Combat , an association run by practising martial artists not briefcase warriors.

As a hobby,  Alberto Testa is a
Certified Fitness Trainer , Sport Nutritionist
(ISSA,FIF,IFBB,FIA) and
Thump Boxing Coach  and a level 3 member of the UK Register of
Exercise Professionals
