:: Koroho Goshin Jutsu (Osaka-Japan) ::

Learning Self Defence via Traditional Martial Arts such as Okinawan Karate, Muay Thai..requires time and great
dedication. There are professionals such as police forces that do not have time; they need to learn quickly and use these
skills ASAP in the street or  there are 'ordinary' people that wants to learn SIMPLE and EFFECTIVE techniques to be able
to react if in a dangerous situation.
KOROHO GOSHIN JUTSU was created in Japan for these reasons. Its creator is
Masashi Yokoyama Soke. Master Yokoyama was born to a family of martial arts experts. At a young age he was taught a
very traditional form of Japanese martial arts which came from the Banshu Region of Japan.

This traditional Japanese martial art, which consists of the study of hand to hand combat, was originally consigned to
the inferior class of Samurai during the civil war era. It was valued for its efficiency in battle .At the same time he practiced
Karate, Chinese martial art, and swordsmanship. His numerous professional placements in South-east Asia, the U.S.A.
and in Europe led him to reflect on the efficiency of traditional and competitive martial arts in the fight against modern
crime. Using his experiences in the martial arts, he developed his own style, a marriage between efficiency and
simplicity, which he called KOROHO. This word, which can be translated as "to continue to move forward with a pure
soul," shows well the desire of Master YOKOYAMA to improve martial art techniques by adapting them to reality.

YOKOYAMA SENSEI designed KOROHO for who had not so much  time to practice, often had no previous fighting skills
and needed to  learn a simple "end the fight right NOW" set of skills. This contemporary method of self- defense quickly
came to the attention of the police forces in many different countries, many of whom asked Master YOKOYAMA to come
and teach seminars in his style to their elite forces. KOROHO has been taught for instance to the French Gendarmerie
(police) and bodyguard-security in Japan

Koroho is practical, simple and easy to learn. In today's life, most of criminals use
some type of weapon (knife, gun, stick, etc) since even if you practice martial arts
for many years, it is very difficult to protect yourself from an assailant's sudden
attack with a weapon. The Koroho system is easy and quickly learn. Koroho
employs mainly high speed and simple movements to guard against a sudden
attack by using basic human instincts and reflexes. So, even if you do not have
strength or a big body, you can defend yourself from an assailant
